Technical Support

Before reading any of the below, Rodda recommends that you print off the manual and highlight areas that you may be having difficulty with for easy reference in the future.

Important: The RoddaVision Digital Color Planner program is designed to run in true color (24 bit) display at 800x600 pixels Screen area. A minimum of high color (16 bit) color display is required to run the program at 800x600 pixels.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 95 or above
  • Pentium 100 MHz or higher processor
  • 24-bit true color monitor capable of 800x600 screen resolution
  • Quad-speed or faster CD-ROM drive
  • 35MB spare hard drive space

Tutorial

If running the Tutorial, set the Screen area Display to 1024x768 pixels if your computer supports this resolution. Running the Tutorial at 800x600 pixels will obscure the stop and exit buttons.

If your computer does not support 1024X768 resolution, the following commands may be used at 800X600 resolution: One left mouse button click on screen will pause the Tutorial, a double click will continue the Tutorial. Press the Alt and the F4 key simultaneously to exit the Tutorial.

RoddaVision recommends using any of the Epson Color Stylus Photo printers with Epson Photo Quality photo paper for use with the RoddaVision application.

RoddaVision has two main components: The Viewing Program and The PhotoEditor
The RoddaVision viewing program lets you select the colors you wish to see and 'applies' them to the surfaces in the photos.

To use, simply select the photo you wish to color and click on the 'paint' menu bar. Now you can easily change the color of the walls, trim-even the furniture or draperies-just by clicking on the various color tags. You can save up to four different color schemes of each photo.

The PhotoEditor lets you import your own photos, plans or drawings into the program in a format that allows you to mask off sections of the picture for the different colors you wish to test, e.g., exterior siding, trim and accent sections.

Troubleshooting

My Printer is not printing that great.
Always check your printing settings to make sure that the media type is glossy photo paper, and your settings are set to ICM.

I would like to print a larger photo.
Please refer to the manual under export feature. You can print larger pictures an A4 size.

Why should I register?
It is important to register so that Rodda Paint can notify you by email for any future color updates, and send you all new colors right to your email box. You can also be notified directly about any future special paint offers.

I am having trouble outlining around edges of the photo.
Always use the zoom tool on the Rodda vision tool bar. This will allow you to stencil pixel by pixel if needed. This will give you the best result when printing the final color summary.

RoddaVision Update

Version 2.0 - July, 2002

This is a full upgrade of the latest version of the program - with the new Colorizer palette, including all 1320 colors and quick pick side panel colors (for those of you familiar with the expanded color displayer). The upgrade also replaces the old Exterior Color Planner with the new Exterior Finishes Color Card.
The program itself has also been modified for better functionality, with a before and after photo on printout, runs in a window by default, and has a new manual to explain some improved new tool features.

It has many more subtle improvements, such as in the Photo Editor - when loading an existing .hse file - a thumbnail of the image appears. The tool and function upgrades are just fixes and additions to make it a better running, more powerful program.

Downloading and Installation
